1st CYCLES Project Meeting in Mainz/Germany

The kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project CYCLES took place on the 17th and 18th of October 2017 in Mainz/Germany. It was kindly hosted by IKJ Institut für Kinder- und Jugendhilfe and the consortium had the chance to know each other in person for the first time. In the group we defined the meaning and concept of financial literacy and entrepreneurship as to be used in the project.

From December 2017 to May 2018 all partners had the task do a desk research on national curricula for social worker education, existing and planned initiatives when it comes to transferring financial knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking to (future) care leavers. This desk research is the first step of Intellectual Output 1 (Analysis Reports) which is led by BUNDESVERBAND THERAPEUTISCHE GEMEINSCHAFTEN OSTERREICH VEREIN (BTG). Straight after completing the desk research all partner countries implemented a focus group with experts in order to get an in-depth understanding of available trainings, planned trainings and what child and youth care practitioners need and want in order to increase financial literacy and entrepreneurial thinking among (future) care leavers.

A comparative analysis among all partners and countries as well as the subsequent GAP report are currently finalized and are the main output needed in order to continue with the creation of the skill card.
